How do you get a Turkey visa from Pakistan? (2026)

Pakistani passport holders need a visa for Türkiye. This guide explains when the e-Visa is open to you, how the sticker visa works through Anatolia Travel Services, the fees in PKR, documents, fake websites, the border, overstaying and refusals.

By Ch. Bilal RasheedLast reviewed

Short answer

Most Pakistanis need a sticker visa, applied for through Anatolia Travel Services, the only authorised visa centre network in Pakistan. As of 15 September 2026, the Turkish foreign ministry says holders of a valid Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa or residence permit can get a one-month, single entry e-Visa online instead. A 3-month single entry sticker visa costs PKR 52,200, plus GST.

Turkey visa and e-Visa explained for Pakistani travellers in 2026

Do Pakistanis need a visa for Turkey?

Yes. With an ordinary green Pakistani passport, you need a visa before you travel to Türkiye. That applies to a week in Istanbul and to a trade fair in Izmir alike.

What the Turkish foreign ministry says

As of 15 September 2026, the Republic of Türkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs exempts Pakistani official passport holders for up to 90 days. Ordinary passport holders must have a visa. Turkish law allows visas at the border only in exceptional cases, so do not plan around a visa on arrival.

Two routes

If you hold a valid visa or residence permit from the Schengen area, the USA, the UK or Ireland, you may apply for an e-Visa online. Everyone else applies for a sticker visa. That is the visa placed in your passport after an application through the visa centre in Pakistan.

Can Pakistanis get the Turkish e-Visa?

Only with a valid Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa or residence permit. As of 15 September 2026, the foreign ministry says Pakistani ordinary passport holders who meet that condition may get a one-month, single entry e-Visa.

The supporting visa or permit

The supporting document must come from a Schengen country, the USA, the UK or Ireland, and it must be valid. A Turkish mission note on the conditional e-Visa says a used or unused visa counts if it is valid on your entry date. A visa in an expired passport can count if you carry both passports.

A Turkish consulate note dated 18 January 2025 says border officers recognise sticker visas. It adds that electronic visas are not accepted as supporting documents. If your supporting visa is digital only, check the official system before relying on it.

Still waiting for that visa? The guides to the Schengen visa, the UK visit visa and the US visit visa explain those applications.

Purpose, tickets, hotel and funds

The e-Visa covers tourism or business only. Work and study visas come from Turkish embassies and consulates. Turkish missions’ notes on the conditional e-Visa also list these requirements:

  • a return ticket;
  • a hotel reservation;
  • at least USD 50 for each day of your stay;
  • arrival by air, not at a land border.

A Turkish consulate’s e-Visa brochure adds that some nationalities must fly with airlines holding a protocol with the foreign ministry. I could not confirm whether that applies to Pakistani passports today. The system lists the conditions when you select Pakistan, so read that screen in full.

Fee and length of stay

The official e-Visa system could not be checked automatically on 15 September 2026, so this guide does not quote its fee. The system shows the fee for your nationality before you pay by card. After you leave Türkiye on a single entry e-Visa, you need a new visa to return.

How do you spot a fake Turkish e-Visa website?

The official system belongs to the Republic of Türkiye’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at evisa.gov.tr. Turkish embassies have warned that other websites claiming to issue the e-Visa are not official.

How copycat sites work

Turkish missions report sites that copy the official address and imitate the government page. They collect passport details and money, often with a service charge added. Some admit in small print that they are not official.

Four checks before you pay

  • Type the address yourself instead of clicking search adverts or WhatsApp links.
  • Read the address bar: the government site ends in .gov.tr.
  • Treat priority processing, document checks and service fees as signs of a reseller.
  • If an agent sends a payment link, ask which site it is, and read the guide to checking a visa consultant first.

Should you apply as a tourist or for a business visit?

Apply for the purpose that is true. Holidays and family trips are tourist visits. Meetings, trade fairs and conferences are business visits.

Tourist visits

A tourist file rests on your own money and ties. It shows where you will stay, a return flight reservation, how you will pay, and the job, business or studies waiting for you in Pakistan.

Business visits

The Turkish Consulate General in Karachi’s checklist of 20 October 2025 adds four items for a business meeting visa. They are a stamped and signed invitation from Türkiye, a copy of tax registration, Chamber of Commerce membership details and other supporting documents.

What neither visa allows

The foreign ministry says tourist and business visas do not authorise employment. Paid work needs a work visa and a permit from the Ministry of Labour and Social Security.

Where do you apply for a Turkish sticker visa in Pakistan?

Through Anatolia Travel Services. The Turkish Embassy in Islamabad has named Anatolia as the sole authorised provider receiving visa applications across Pakistan. The Karachi consulate’s 2025 checklist says the same.

Which centre is yours

As of 15 September 2026, Anatolia has centres in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Faisalabad and Hyderabad. Since 11 March 2026, you apply according to your place of work or business, or your CNIC address.

When to apply

Anatolia says processing generally takes at least around 6 weeks, in working days, and longer in peak season. Since 2025, every application also needs approval from the Ministry in Türkiye. Your travel date cannot be more than 90 days after submission.

So aim for 6 to 12 weeks before your flight. The Karachi consulate says it cannot promise a timeframe. It advises against buying tickets or non-refundable hotels before the visa is issued.

Submission and collection

Tourist applicants need no prior appointment during Anatolia’s declared submission hours. Collect your passport promptly, because uncollected passports go back to the mission after 30 days.

How much does a Turkey visa cost from Pakistan?

As of 15 September 2026, a single entry sticker visa costs PKR 52,200 for 3 months, PKR 58,000 for 6 months or PKR 63,800 for 12 months. These figures appear in the fee structure attached to the Turkish Embassy in Islamabad’s announcement of 20 February 2026, and on Anatolia’s site.

Payment, refunds and insurance

Payment is in PKR cash only, the fees are not refundable, and GST is added. Anatolia’s version also lists PKR 5,600 extra for applications processed after 6 pm. The foreign ministry confirms that fees are not refunded after a rejection.

The tourism checklist also requires travel health insurance covering USD 60,000, including repatriation. Only approved insurers are accepted, and the policy is sold at Anatolia’s centres for 3, 6 or 12 months. Its premium is separate from the visa fee.

What documents do you need for a Turkish visit visa from Pakistan?

You must show who you are, why you are going, who pays and why you will return. Anatolia’s 2026 tourism checklist warns that missing documents may cause a refusal.

Passport, photos, forms and cover letter

Your passport needs 180 days of validity from travel for single entry, or 365 days for multiple entry. It also needs at least two blank pages back to back. Add A4 copies of the bio data page and used pages from current and old passports, covering up to 5 years. Bring two colour biometric photos, 50 mm by 60 mm, on a white background.

The application form is completed at the centre, and each applicant aged 18 or over fills in an interview form. A typed, signed, one-page cover letter is mandatory for adults. It states your purpose, dates, places, who pays, who travels with you and any earlier visits to Türkiye.

Money and tax records

Anatolia asks for original bank statements for at least the last 3 months. They must be signed, stamped and no older than 30 days, with an account maintenance certificate. The Karachi consulate’s checklist asks for 6 months, so give 6. Add FBR returns, your NTN and Active Taxpayer evidence where you have them.

Job, business and sponsor evidence

Employees give a signed job letter, dated within 30 days, stating title, length of service and salary, with 3 months of salary slips. Government officers add an NOC or ex-Pakistan leave letter. Business owners prove ownership through SECP papers, Form 29, a partnership deed or a chamber certificate. A sponsor gives an affidavit on stamp paper, a CNIC copy and proof of income.

Family, accommodation and flights

Include your NADRA Family Registration Certificate, or a Marriage Registration Certificate if newly married. Give a hotel reservation or a notarised invitation with a copy of your host’s ID. Add a return flight reservation, not a paid ticket.

When I review a Turkish visit file, the cover letter, bank statement and job letter go side by side. If the dates, salary and purpose disagree, that is the first thing to fix.

How long can you stay in Turkey, and what happens at the border?

No more than 90 days in any 180-day period, and your own visa may allow less. The Pakistani e-Visa allows one month.

The 90 days in 180 rule

Law No. 6458 on Foreigners and International Protection caps stays under a visa at 90 days within 180 days. The foreign ministry explains that validity is the window for entering, while the stay is how long you may remain. Your passport must be valid for 60 days beyond your permitted stay.

At passport control

The same law says a visa does not give an absolute right of entry. Entry can be refused over false documents, or a passport without enough validity. Carry your hotel booking, return ticket, insurance and proof of funds. E-Visa travellers should also carry the printed e-Visa and the original supporting visa or permit.

The foreign ministry says tourists cannot extend beyond 90 days. Longer stays need a short term residence permit from the provincial migration authorities.

What happens if you overstay or work illegally in Turkey?

Overstaying brings fines and can bring removal and an entry ban. Working without a permit can lead to removal too.

Removal decisions

Under Law No. 6458, a removal decision is issued for foreigners who overstay a visa by more than 10 days or work without a work permit. It also covers those who gave false documents. Entry bans can last up to 5 years, and longer in serious security cases.

Entry bans after an overstay

As of 15 September 2026, the Presidency of Migration Management says an overstay under 3 months brings no ban if you left voluntarily before detection and paid the fines. Longer voluntary overstays bring bans from 1 month to 5 years. Unpaid fines or deportation bring bans from 3 months. You cannot re-enter until the fines are paid, even after a ban ends.

Fine amounts change, so this guide does not quote them. A job offer that starts with a tourist visa is a warning sign, not a plan.

How do you apply, step by step?

The steps cover both routes. Your supporting visa decides the route, and the current Anatolia checklist decides the documents.

  1. Check whether the e-Visa applies to you

As of 15 September 2026, Pakistani ordinary passport holders qualify only with a valid Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa or residence permit, and only for tourism or business. Otherwise, you need a sticker visa.

  2. If you qualify, use the official e-Visa system

Type the address yourself, select Pakistan and read every condition before paying by card. Print the e-Visa and carry it with your original supporting visa or residence permit.

  3. Otherwise, choose your Anatolia centre and date

Apply at the Anatolia Travel Services centre matching your workplace, business or CNIC address. Submit at least 6 weeks before travel, for a travel date no more than 90 days away.

  4. Assemble documents against the current checklist

Follow Anatolia’s checklist for your purpose line by line: passport, photos, cover letter, NADRA certificate, bank statements, FBR records, job or business evidence, and hotel and flight reservations.

  5. Submit in person and pay in cash

Adults fill in an interview form at the centre. As of 15 September 2026, fees are paid in PKR cash with GST added, and are not refunded. Approved travel health insurance is sold at the centre.

  6. Collect your passport and check the visa

Collect your passport within 30 days, or it goes back to the mission. Check your name, passport number, dates and number of entries before you pay for flights or hotels.

What happens if your Turkish visa is refused?

You lose the fee and may have to wait. Anatolia’s current tourism checklist says a refusal in the last 6 months bars a new application until 6 months after the refusal date.

Reasons may not be given

Turkish law says refusals are notified to the applicant. Anatolia notes, however, that the missions may not disclose specific reasons. The legal grounds include insufficient funds, no valid medical insurance and an unproven purpose, so review those first.

Reapplying

Anatolia’s notices also say you may reapply with updated documents and a new fee. Ask the centre which rule applies before submitting. Then change the file, not just the date. For a second opinion, you can ask for a free first consultation.

What goes wrong most often?

Paying a copycat e-Visa website

A search result that looks official proves nothing. Type the official address yourself and check it ends in .gov.tr before entering passport or card details.

Relying on an expired supporting visa

A Schengen visa that expired last month does not qualify you. Check its dates against your arrival before applying for the e-Visa.

Applying at the wrong centre or too early

The centre should match your workplace, business or CNIC address. A travel date more than 90 days after submission is too far ahead.

Money that appears from nowhere

A statement showing PKR 120,000 a month, then PKR 1,500,000 arriving just before submission, raises an obvious question. If the money is genuine, document its source.

Treating a visit visa as a job route

Working in Istanbul on a tourist visa risks removal and an entry ban. Real employment starts with a work permit and a work visa.

A realistic example

Take a hypothetical couple, Sana and Faisal, from Lahore. They are an illustration, not real clients. They plan a 10-day trip to Istanbul in late November. Sana holds a valid multiple entry Schengen visa from a work trip to Germany. Faisal has never held a Western visa.

  • Early September. Sana qualifies for the e-Visa; Faisal needs a sticker visa. His CNIC and office are both in Lahore, so he uses the Lahore centre.
  • Mid September. Faisal gathers a job letter, salary slips, 6 months of signed statements, a maintenance certificate, FBR returns and their marriage certificate. They reserve flights and a hotel without paying.
  • First week of October. About 7 weeks before travel, he submits in Lahore, pays PKR 52,200 plus GST in cash and buys approved insurance.
  • November. With his visa issued, Sana applies on the official e-Visa system. Both check their visas, then book.

Every document tells one story: the same 10 days, income matching the tax returns, and jobs in Lahore to return to.

The version that goes wrong

Now imagine Sana pays the first e-Visa site she finds, at several times the official fee. Her Schengen visa expires two days before they land. Faisal’s father deposits PKR 1,500,000 into his account the week before submission, with no explanation, and the flights are non-refundable. Together, these risk a lost holiday, lost fees and a 6-month wait before Faisal can apply again.

Key takeaways

  • Ordinary Pakistani passport holders need a visa for Türkiye before they fly.
  • As of 15 September 2026, the e-Visa is open only to holders of a valid Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa or residence permit.
  • The official e-Visa address ends in .gov.tr; other sites claiming to issue it are not official.
  • Sticker visas go through Anatolia Travel Services, at the centre matching your work, business or CNIC address.
  • A 3-month single entry sticker visa costs PKR 52,200 plus GST, paid in cash, with no refund.
  • Allow at least around 6 weeks, but keep your travel date within 90 days of submission.
  • Overstaying or working without a permit can lead to removal and an entry ban of up to 5 years.

Frequently asked questions

Can Pakistanis get a Turkish visa on arrival?

Do not plan on it. The Turkish foreign ministry says ordinary Pakistani passport holders need a visa, and Turkish law allows border visas only in exceptional cases. Before you fly, get the e-Visa if you qualify, or a sticker visa through Anatolia Travel Services.

Can I get the Turkish e-Visa with a UK or US visa?

Yes, if it is valid. As of 15 September 2026, the foreign ministry says Pakistani ordinary passport holders with a valid Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa or residence permit may get a one-month, single entry e-Visa for tourism or business. Read the conditions shown for Pakistan before paying.

How much does a Turkish sticker visa cost in Pakistan?

As of 15 September 2026, the Turkish Embassy and Anatolia list PKR 52,200 for a 3-month single entry visa, PKR 58,000 for 6 months and PKR 63,800 for 12 months. A 12-month multiple entry visa is PKR 98,600. Fees are paid in cash, exclude GST and are not refundable.

How much is the Turkish e-Visa fee for Pakistanis?

This guide does not quote it, because the current figure could not be confirmed on an official page. The official e-Visa system shows the fee for your nationality before you pay. If a website asks for far more, or adds a service charge, it is probably not the government system.

How long does a Turkish sticker visa take from Pakistan?

Anatolia says processing generally takes at least around 6 weeks, in working days, and longer in peak season. Since 2025, applications also need approval from the Ministry in Türkiye. Your travel date cannot be more than 90 days after submission, so apply about 6 to 12 weeks ahead.

How much bank balance do I need for a Turkey visa?

No fixed minimum is published for the sticker visa. The checklist asks for sufficient accessible funds, so your balance should clearly cover flights, hotel and daily costs. For the conditional e-Visa, Turkish missions’ notes mention at least USD 50 for each day of your stay.

Can I get a multiple entry Turkish visa on my first trip?

No. Anatolia says that from 25 November 2025, only applicants who have already entered Türkiye at least once on a single entry visa can apply for multiple entry. You need proof of that entry and exit, and a passport valid for at least one year from travel.

Can I work in Turkey on a tourist or business visa?

No. The foreign ministry says tourist and business visas do not allow employment; work needs a permit from the Ministry of Labour and Social Security. Under Law No. 6458, a foreigner found working without a permit faces a removal decision, and deportation brings an entry ban.

What happens if I overstay my Turkish visa?

Fines are charged, and bans can follow. The Presidency of Migration Management says an overstay under 3 months brings no ban if you leave voluntarily before detection and pay the fines. Longer overstays, unpaid fines or deportation bring bans of up to 5 years.

If my Turkish visa is refused, when can I apply again?

Anatolia’s current tourism checklist says that after a Türkiye visa refusal, you cannot apply again until 6 months have passed from the refusal date. Its other notices say a new application needs updated documents and a new fee. Confirm the rule with Anatolia before you submit.

Do Turkish missions give reasons when they refuse a visa?

Not always. Turkish law says a refusal is notified to the applicant, but Anatolia notes that the Embassy and Consulates may not disclose specific reasons. Review your own file honestly: funds, ties to Pakistan, purpose, travel history, and whether every document agrees with the others.

Can Ch. Bilal Rasheed help me with a Turkey visa?

Yes, with general guidance. The first consultation is free, in Lahore, on WhatsApp or by phone. He checks your documents against the published requirements and tells you plainly where the file is weak. No one can guarantee a visa; the Turkish authorities decide. He is a qualified lawyer in Pakistan, not a Turkish lawyer.
